Daggett, Indiana

Daggett is an unincorporated community in Owen County, Indiana, United States[1] on State Road 157 about a mile south of Coal City. As far as any one knows there has never been an actual town there, just a few houses between two corners of the highway. In the 1950s a man named Summerlot had a large landscaping nursery there. He cultivated the trees with a team of mules. Some of the trees are left, they have grown huge now. About a quarter mile west of the first curve or corner there is an abandoned coal shovel. It is the size of a large church. In the 1960s Daggett was the epicenter of an earth quake that shook a large area in southwest Indiana.
